These instructions will help you set up any compatible Ethernet LAN Thermal Printer.

Click HERE to find out the compatible printer listing.

Before you begin, ensure your iPad installed KryptoPOS app from App Store, place your paper roll inside the printer and the LAN cable is connected to the back of the printer.

A) Find out the IP address of your thermal printer

  1. Turn off the printer
  2. Connect the printer to the electricity and connect an Ethernet cable from the printer to your WiFi router.
  3. Press down the FEED button and hold it, then turn on the printer while still pressing the FEED button. After 5 seconds, the printer should print a paper with written its current settings.
  4. Read the setting paper and find the IP address. The IP address should look like 192.168.y.x

B) Find out the IP address of your WiFi router

Your WiFi router has two (2) IP addresses:

  1. Public IP address used to connect to the internet.
  2. Local IP address used to identify the WiFi router within the Local Area Network.

The Local IP address is the one that we want to find out since the thermal printer is connected to the Local Area Network.

Read this tutorial to find out the local IP address:

C) Match the first three (3) numbers of the IP of the router and of the printer

The IP address of your printer must have the same first three (3) numbers as the IP address of your WiFi router.

For example:

WiFi router IP address: 192.168.1.0

Printer IP address: 192.168.1.100

If the two IP addresses first 3 numbers are matching, you can go back to KryptoPOS app and add a printer in the setting.

D) Change IP addresses range of the thermal printer

In the case the first three (3) numbers of the two IP addresses are not matching, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Open your iPad settings
  2. Tap Wi-Fi to connect to your router access point
  3. Tap the circular (i) button next to the router access point name.
  4. Go to IPV4 address
  5. Tap Configure IP / Automatic
  6. Tap Manual
  7. Fill-up IP address, Subnet Mask, Router
  8. Tap Save

IP address: 192.168.x.10 (x=your printer third number of IP address)

Router: Your router local IP address (Refer to Step B)

(Note**: If you're using iOS 10 and below, tap the circular (i) button next to your router access point name. Under IP address, you'll see DHCP, BootP and Static. Tap STATIC and fill up IP address, Subnet Mask, Router fields.

After completing the steps above, return to your iPad Home Screen.

The browser should bring you to another page. On the left panel, look for Configuration setting or TCP/IP to change your printer IP address.

IP Address - 192.168.x.240 (x=your router third number of IP address)
Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway - 192.168.x.1 (your WiFi router IP address)

Tap Save/Reset and Restart your printer.
